Council Meetings
 
 Charlebois Council meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month (except July and August).

  Practicing Catholic men may contact the Grand Knight directly to discuss the aims
  and objectives of the Order. Ask any Knight for a pamphlet that describes the benefits
  of membership. Indicate your interest and an Application for Membership form
  will be provided.

   A new on-line membership requiring no local Council or meeting involvement is now
   also available to those interested. This type of membership allows access to KC

   Condolences to the family of Bro. Proulx. He passed away on May 30, 2019.
  His obituary can be seen HERE.

 Farewell Father VJ                                                                                               Charlebois Council said goodbye to Chaplain Fr. V. J. at his last meeting with us on May 14. A gift was presented to him by Grand Knight Carlson on behalf of the Council prior to Fr. V. J. leaving on a vacation in India before going to his new posting in Winnipeg. He was thanked for his support to our Council during his time with us.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


 


Annual Parish Yard Cleanup 2019

The annual cleanup of the church grounds saw a good turnout. In three hours the job was done and a load was on its way to the Town dump. Thanks to all the Knights and parishioners who came out on May 11 to do this project.

The Community Wellness Challenge
Past Grand Knight Wadelius presents a Charlebois Council $250 donation to Recreation Director Amber Whitehead to aid the community Wellness Challenge event that ran during May.
 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 



Rock, Paper, Scissors Challenge 2019
 On April 26, 2010 the 1st annual Rock, Paper, Scissors Challenge, sponsored by
 Charlebois Council, was held at
École Scott Bateman Middle School.
 The tenth annual event was held on April 29. Events from previous years can be seen HERE.

 
The RPS competition (L) was intense. The four finalists received cash prizes from Grand Knight Kevin Carlson, with a plaque going to the Champion. .

St. Paul's Personal Care Home Birthday Party
Held on Saturday, Feb 23, 2019 the Council sponsored the birthday party for the residents of St. Paul's Personal Care Home with a cake and entertainment for the residents. This was the 11th year of the Council's participation.

 


 Community Food for Families Program
Charlebois Council has made donations in 2014-15, 2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18 and 2018-19 to school breakfast programs and adult food programs in The Pas. 

GK Carlson presents a donation to Kelsey Community School's breakfast coordinator Dayna Kerslake & Principal Jay Marin. GK Carlson presents a donation to Opasquia School's breakfast coordinator Amy Johnson & Principal Cam Nagle. GK Carlson presents a donation to Lorraine Packo, coordinator for the Northern Gateway Chaplaincy's breakfast program.

 Yard Cleanup Revisited
 Responding to a request of Sacred Heart Parish for a fall grass cutting on diocese property, Brother Maksymchuk led three members of Charlebois Council (Bros. Otchenash, Hlady and Wadelius) to complete the task in September.

 Easter Bread Sharing
At the Easter services in 2019, for the sixth year in a row, Charlebois Council distributed a loaf of bread to each Our Lady of the Sacred Heart parish family in The Pas, and in 2019 also to the parishes in Cormorant and Pukatawagan.

 Council Dinner
The Council celebrated its 90th anniversary with a Chinese food dinner on November 13, 2018.
 It was an opportunity to provide a treat to our spouses and special guests.
                                     
 Coats for Kids
 
This is the third year that Charlebois Council has donated new winter jackets for those
 children who may need them. The coats were distributed through the two Early Years
 schools in October.

 

 Sacred Heart Cathedral Renovations
  In May 2017 a cathedral floor replacement fund-raising project was started. Charlebois Council stepped up again with a $5,000 donation to kick it off. The project was completed in August. A second donation of $5,000 was made in October to further the fund-raising goal.

 ICCD Tickets Sales
 Best Seller in 2018-19 was again Bro. Ken Kelly. Sellers' draw was made in May. Bro. Rick Klima did a great job chairing this successful project. The 2018-19 ticket sales have now closed. The 2019 winners can be seen HERE.


 About Our Council

Charlebois Council #2704, founded on
December 2, 1928, is named after Bishop Ovid Charlebois, the first Bishop of Keewatin-Le Pas diocese and an early Oblate missionary in northern Manitoba. 

Charlebois Council works with Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic parish in The Pas, providing funds for various projects. Council members are active participants in this Parish.

  Stained Glass Windows
